Current Goals
Chance is a Graphic Design major studying at Maryland Institute College of Art with interests in branding identities. His dream is to create his own design system that utilizes Hawaiian culture to emphasize their own identity.
Design Theory
Connection is more important than invention. As a designers we must realize we will likely never invent anything new. What I strive for is connection. Digging deep into a projects rich history and culture and pulling contemporary abstracted ideas from what already exists. Furthermore I strive to build with other creatives and explore the best workflows. Connection does not have to only be a visual element but also a physical one with the people we collaborate with.
Career Plan
I am optimistic that I will find a career path that leads me towards building identity systems and branding especially in digital medias. This being an agency that collaborates with many creatives to create a public identity for the right companies. I would rather not become an in-house designer as that seems to lack a diverse and large variety of project types. Although I would also be happy working in more specified areas such as motion graphics or UI/UX.
